Material lifts do the heavy lifting between floors so you don’t have to. At home, an attic lift carries storage totes, holiday decorations, and tools from the garage up into the attic at the push of a button — no more wrestling boxes up a wobbly pull-down ladder. In shops, restaurants, and warehouses, a commercial material lift moves stock and equipment between levels safely and up to code. Home Accessibility Solutions is an authorized dealer for the Versa Lift attic lift line and Savaria’s M-1504 commercial material lift. We install and service them across Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas from our home base in Wichita. Not sure which lift fits your space? Call us — we’ll measure, walk you through the options, and give you a straight answer.

Our Promise

Two warranties on every install

Each unit above carries its manufacturer’s written warranty — terms vary by model, and we put the exact terms in your quote.

Every installation also carries our 6-month workmanship warranty, on top of the manufacturer’s warranty: if our work was not done right, we come back and fix it at no cost to you — as long as the issue was not an act of God or misuse of the machine.

Questions families ask us

Can someone ride on a material lift?
No. Material lifts are built and coded for goods only — the codes they install under (ASME A17.1 Section 7.4 and ASME B20.1) don’t allow riders. If a person needs to ride along, that calls for a different product, like a vertical platform lift or a commercial elevator. We carry those too and can help you pick the right one.
How much weight can these lifts handle?
The Versa Lift attic lifts carry 200 lb per load (Model 24) or 250 lb (Model 32), per the manufacturer’s brochure. The Savaria M-1504 commercial lift carries up to 1,000 lb, per Savaria’s published specs. That covers most storage totes, stock, and equipment.
Do I need special wiring for an attic lift?
Usually not. The Versa Lift runs on a standard 115-volt grounded outlet and pulls under 5 amps — the manufacturer notes it can even share a circuit with the attic light. The outlet just needs to be within about 6 feet of the motor end. The commercial M-1504 is different: it needs its own 120 VAC, 30-amp single-phase supply.
How high can a material lift travel?
Versa Lift attic lifts handle 8 to 20 feet floor-to-floor, depending on the leg kit. Savaria’s M-1504 travels up to 23 feet under the B20.1 code. We measure your exact floor-to-floor height during the site visit so the right unit gets ordered the first time.
What happens if the power goes out mid-lift?
Both lines are built for this. The Versa Lift’s motor brake sets instantly whenever the switch is released or power is lost, so the platform holds right where it is. The Savaria M-1504 includes manual lowering, and an optional 24-volt battery back-up can run it up and down during an outage.
Does a commercial material lift need a pit or a machine room?
Not much of one. The M-1504’s drive lives inside its own support tower, so there’s no machine room at all. Under the B20.1 code it needs just a 3-inch pit or a fixed ramp; under A17.1 it needs a 6-inch pit. That’s a big reason these lifts fit so well into existing buildings.
Can I install an attic lift myself?
Versa Lift says over half of its units are installed by homeowners or handymen with basic carpentry skills. That said, most of our customers have us handle it — we frame the opening, set the lift, and test everything so it works right the first time and the warranty stays clean.
What kind of warranty do material lifts come with?
The Versa Lift comes with a 3-year manufacturer warranty, and an optional 2-year extended warranty is available. Savaria backs the M-1504 with a 36-month warranty against defective parts through your local dealer, with regular maintenance required. We’ll go over the exact written terms with you before you buy.
