Portable Ceiling Lifts

A portable ceiling lift is a lightweight motor — Savaria’s weighs about 11 pounds — that you carry to whichever room has track and click onto the trolley. One lift can serve the bedroom, bathroom, and living room, which keeps costs down. It can also hang from a freestanding gantry frame, so it can travel for visits or vacations.

Fixed Ceiling Lifts

A fixed ceiling lift stays on its track full-time, always charged and ready — nothing to carry or click into place. It’s the workhorse choice when most transfers happen in one area. Choose manual traverse (the caregiver glides the person along the track by hand) or power traverse (buttons on the hand control move the lift along the track).

Larger users who deserve a safe, dignified transfer — up to 1,200 lb.

Bariatric Ceiling Lifts

Bariatric ceiling lifts carry 800 to 1,200 pounds with the same smooth, quiet motion as standard models. Track Systems & Freestanding Gantries

Track is the other half of the system: straight runs, 45- and 90-degree curves, turntables, gates, and XY systems that cover a whole room. A track bridge can link two rooms so the lift glides between them. If drilling isn’t possible, a freestanding 4-post gantry supports the track instead.

Do you have to drill into my ceiling?

Track normally anchors to the structure above the ceiling, and our crew installs it cleanly and load-tests it. But if drilling isn’t an option — a rental, an odd ceiling, a short-term need — a freestanding 4-post gantry frame holds the track without touching the ceiling at all.

What happens if the power goes out?

Ceiling lifts run on batteries, not house current, so a transfer in progress keeps right on going. Lithium-ion M-Series lifts average about 80 lifts per charge with a 200-lb user. Every model also has emergency stop and emergency lowering, and the M-Series can power a person down, back up, and reset itself from floor level.
