Savaria was established in 1979, and entrepreneur Marcel Bourassa acquired it in 1989 and grew it into a publicly traded, global leader in accessibility. From the versatile Eclipse to the showpiece Vuelift panoramic glass elevator, these are the Savaria home elevators we install and service across Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

Choosing between the Eclipse, Infinity and Zenith
All three are shafted home elevators. What actually separates them is the drive system, and that drives everything else — capacity, ride feel and what your home has to accommodate.
- Eclipse — a 2 hp geared roller-chain drive with a variable frequency drive, machine-roomless. 950 to 1,000 lb, travel up to 50 ft. Savaria’s best seller, and the default recommendation for most homes.
- Infinity — a 1:2 cable hydraulic drive with a 5 hp submersible pump. 750, 950 or 1,000 lb, travel up to 50 ft, 36 ft/min. Hydraulic drives ride very smoothly and are the traditional choice.
- Zenith — geared traction with a counterweight on steel cables. 1,400 lb, and the fastest of the three at 40 ft/min, or 50 to 60 ft/min where code permits. This is commercial-grade machinery in a residential package.
Capacity is rarely the deciding factor in a house. Shaft space, pit depth, overhead clearance and how many stops you need usually decide it for you, which is why we measure before recommending.
Panoramic glass: the Vuelift family
The Vuelift Round, Octagonal and Mini arrive with their own factory-built hoistway, so there is no shaft to frame on site. That is the practical reason people choose them, quite apart from how they look: it takes a large piece of construction out of the project.
Round and Octagonal carry 840 lb in acrylic or 950 lb in glass; the Mini carries 500 lb. All three travel up to 50 ft and serve up to six stops.
Through-the-floor Savarias — no shaft at all
If framing a hoistway is not realistic, a through-the-floor lift cuts an opening in the floor instead:
- Telecab — 500 lb, up to 23 ft over two stops, 2:1 roller chain hydraulic.
- Telecab 17 — the larger cab at 845 lb, same 23 ft travel.
- Luma — 400 lb, runs on ordinary 110 V household power.
Savaria makes far more than home elevators
Savaria is the broadest line we carry, which is genuinely useful: one manufacturer, one parts supply, one set of technicians to train on. Beyond the elevators above we install and service:
- Stair lifts — the K2 for straight stairs and the StairFriend 23 for curved.
- Vertical platform lifts — the Multilift and V-1504, plus an enclosed V-1504.
- Inclined platform lifts — the Delta for straight runs and the Pegasus for curved.
- M-Series ceiling lift — overhead track transfers between bed, chair and bathroom.
- Orion LU/LA — a limited-use, limited-application elevator for commercial buildings.
- Matot dumbwaiters — Savaria acquired D.A. Matot’s dumbwaiter and material-lift line in April 2024.
Savaria questions
Who is Savaria?
A publicly traded accessibility manufacturer, established in 1979 and built into a global company after Marcel Bourassa acquired it in 1989. Their range runs from stair lifts to commercial elevators.
Which Savaria elevator needs the least construction?
A Vuelift, because the hoistway is factory-built and arrives with the elevator, or a Telecab or Luma, which go through the floor with no shaft at all. The Eclipse, Infinity and Zenith all need a shaft framed on site.
Do you service Savaria equipment you did not install?
Yes. We install new equipment and also service and repair existing elevators and lifts, whoever put them in.
What does a Savaria home elevator cost?
It depends on the model, the number of stops, the finishes, and how much construction your home needs to accept it — which is usually the larger variable. We do not quote elevators sight unseen. Your free in-home consultation ends with a firm price and no obligation.
Not sure an elevator is the right answer? Compare it against a vertical platform lift or a stair lift.
