Which Harmar stair lift fits your staircase?

Harmar covers every common staircase shape, and the four models above split cleanly by the problem they solve:

• Pinnacle SL600 — the compact choice for a straight staircase. It folds to 10.5 inches from the wall, the tightest in the Harmar line, which matters on stairs the rest of the household still walks up. 350 lb capacity.
• Pinnacle SL600HD — the heavy-duty version, rated to 600 lb. That is the highest weight rating available on any residential stair lift we carry. It folds to 16.5 inches, so it takes more room than the SL600.
• Summit SL350 AC/OD — the outdoor model, for porch steps, deck stairs and walkout basements. 350 lb on tracks up to 15 ft 9 in, and 250 lb on longer tracks up to 25 ft.
• Helix — the curved model, for stairs with a turn, a landing or a spiral. Every Helix rail is bent to your exact staircase and finished in Harmar’s Sarasota, Florida facility, and it can be ordered with an outdoor package.

Battery or AC power — they are not all the same

Most Harmar stair lifts run on batteries that recharge whenever the lift is parked, which is why they keep working in a power outage. The Summit is the exception: it runs directly on standard household AC power with no batteries in the unit at all. That makes it simpler to maintain, and it means it stops when the power does. Worth knowing before you choose, and something we will raise at the assessment.

Harmar’s coverage is not uniform across the line, so it is worth comparing:

• Pinnacle SL600 — lifetime drive warranty, 3 years parts.
• Pinnacle SL600HD — 3 years parts, 10 years on the gear rack.
• Summit SL350 — 2 years parts.
• Helix — lifetime drive and rail, 2 years parts.

Harmar makes more than stair lifts

We install Harmar’s vertical platform lifts as well — the Highlander II, VPLX-DC and VPL400-X, all rated to 750 lb. Those carry a wheelchair and rider straight up a porch or deck rise rather than along a staircase.

Harmar stair lift questions

Is a Harmar chair lift the same as a stair lift?

Yes. Chair lift, stair lift, stairlift and stair chair are all names for the same product. Harmar calls them stair lifts; customers often say chair lift.

Which Harmar model holds the most weight?

The Pinnacle SL600HD at 600 lb. Every other model in the line above is rated to 350 lb, and the Summit drops to 250 lb on tracks longer than 15 ft 9 in.

Can a Harmar stair lift go outside?

Yes. The Summit SL350 OD is built for it, and the Helix can be ordered with Harmar’s outdoor package for covered and open stairways.

Do you service Harmar lifts you did not install?

Yes. We install new equipment and also service and repair existing elevators and lifts, including units installed by someone else.

What does a Harmar stair lift cost?
