Start With the Stairs: Chair Lifts for Stairs
For most families, a stair lift is the simplest first step. You sit, buckle in, press a button and ride. When nobody’s riding, fold up the seat, arms and footrest and the staircase is clear again.
Straight Stair Lifts
Its rail is anchored to the stair treads instead of your walls. No remodel, and no drywall to patch later. A straight staircase is often done in one trip. Our crews install stair lifts from AmeriGlide, Harmar, Handicare, Savaria and Staying Home.
Curved Stair Lifts
A staircase with a turn or a landing gets a rail custom-built to fit it. Because each curved rail is made for your stairs, there is a lead time.
Stiltz Home Lifts: An Elevator Without the Construction
When a stair lift isn’t enough, a Stiltz home lift is often the next answer. It travels up through the floor on its own rails. There’s no shaft to build, no pit to dig and no machine room. It runs on a dedicated 220-volt outlet.
- Stiltz Duo Alta: carries one or two people, rated to 375 pounds, with a footprint of about 8.5 square feet.
- Stiltz Trio Alta: wheelchair accessible, fits two or three people or a wheelchair, rated to 550 pounds, about 15 square feet, and serves up to three floors.
Both come in white or grey. If the power goes out, battery backup gently lowers the cab. HAS is a Stiltz dealer and installer.
Home Elevators for Every Level
For a full-cab elevator, we install home elevators from Savaria, Residential Elevators, Inclinator, AmeriGlide, Staying Home and Stiltz. The Savaria Eclipse is the best-selling shafted model and can serve up to five or six stops. Adding an elevator to an existing home? The REI The Level needs no pit cut, just a 2½-inch step up, which makes it the retrofit answer for many houses.
Porch & Garage Wheelchair Lifts
If a wheelchair or scooter is part of daily life, a vertical platform lift carries it straight up over the front steps or from the garage into the house. It needs far less room than a ramp.
Two Stories Plus a Walkout Basement
If your home is a two-story with a finished walkout basement, you’re really living on three levels. That’s a lot of stairs in a day. Some families start with one stair lift on the main staircase and add another later. Others decide a Stiltz Trio Alta or a shafted elevator that reaches every floor makes more sense. Nearly 8 in 10 adults 50 and older want to stay in their homes as they age (AARP). We’ll walk every level with you and lay out the options honestly.

Johnson County FAQs
Can one stair lift reach both the upstairs and the basement?
Each staircase needs its own rail, so two staircases usually mean two stair lifts. If you want one ride that reaches more floors, a Stiltz Trio Alta serves up to three floors and a shafted elevator can serve even more.
Will a stair lift damage our walls or trim?
No. Nothing bolts into the walls. The rail sits on the stair treads, so drywall, paint and trim stay just as they are.
Should we choose a stair lift or a Stiltz home lift?
It depends on who’s riding and what they need. A stair lift is a great fit for someone who can still sit and transfer comfortably. A Stiltz is a better fit when a wheelchair is involved or when two people want to ride together.
