Home Elevators for New Construction in the Springfield, MO Area
Home Accessibility Solutions has a Missouri location in Climax Springs, and we work with home builders, remodelers and architects in Springfield, Nixa, Ozark and Republic. Our job is simple: make the elevator the easiest part of your build. That starts with one rule. Design the elevator in before the framing goes up. We handle it from the first plan review to the final inspection.

From Plans to Inspection
On Paper
We review your blueprint for shaft space, pit depth, top-floor overhead, the dedicated circuit and load paths. We draw the elevator layout for your crew and the permit office, and we coordinate structural engineering when stamped drawings are required. You’ll know what the elevator needs before anyone picks up a saw.
On Site
We frame the shaft with the anchors and blocking the rails need. We pour the pit or pad concrete to manufacturer spec. Then our own crew installs the elevator.
At the Finish
We handle the permit and inspection coordination for the lift, and we stay on as the service company once the homeowners move in.
Slopes, Walkouts and Lake Homes
Many Ozarks homes sit on sloped lots with walkout lower levels, and lake homes add decks and raised entries of their own. Every extra level is another flight of stairs. Those are exactly the homes where an elevator earns its keep, and where the pit, the overhead and the foundation need to be worked out early.
On a hillside, the shaft often runs alongside a foundation wall, and the top stop has to clear the roofline. Outside, an outdoor elevator can connect the yard, the deck and the main floor without touching the interior plan. We’ll show you both options on your drawings.
Lifts That Fit Ozarks Homes
Staying Home Outlook Outdoor Elevator
Built for lake and stilt homes. It carries 500 lb and travels up to 21 feet, outside the house, so the floor plan stays as drawn.
Inclinator Elevette
America’s original home elevator, made since 1928, with many cab styles to match a custom home.
Savaria Vuelift Mini
A glass elevator with a 50-inch footprint, a 3-inch pit and 96 inches of overhead. A small pit is a big help when there’s rock or a slab to deal with.
REI The Level
No pit cut and a 2½-inch step up into the cab. It’s our go-to for remodels and additions.
Spec sheets and manufacturer documents for each model are on our home elevators page.
Plan It Now, Add It Later
Not every buyer wants an elevator on day one. Many want to know they can add one. An elevator-ready plan stacks closets on each floor sized for a future shaft, sets the pit and overhead, and roughs in the circuit. For buyers planning to age in place, that’s a reason to choose your home.

MRL, Hydraulic and Custom Luxury Elevators for Springfield-Area Builders
We plan residential elevators for new construction in the Springfield, MO area from the first set of drawings. The model you pick sets the shaft, the pit, the overhead and where the equipment lives:
- MRL (machine-room-less) elevators keep the drive in the hoistway, so there is no machine room in the plan: the Savaria Eclipse and Zenith, the REI Luxury Lift LLT, and the Inclinator Elevette with its MRL drive.
- Hydraulic home elevators give a smooth, quiet ride and the lowest overhead, with a small machine room or cabinet for the pump.
- Custom luxury elevators help sell the house: handcrafted Residential Elevators cabs in real hardwood, the commercial-grade Savaria Zenith, or a glass elevator as the centerpiece.
- Pitless and low-pit options for a slab that is already poured: REI The Level and the SHC EZ6 need no pit.
| Model | Drive | Minimum pit | Overhead | Machine room |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Savaria Eclipse | MRL, geared chain | 8″ (6″ may be possible) | 96″ | None. Controller in a closet |
| Savaria Zenith | MRL traction, 1,400 lb | 10″ | 108″ | None. Small utility space |
| REI Luxury Lift LLT | MRL traction | 8″ | 102″ | None. Controller overhead in the shaft |
| Savaria Infinity | Hydraulic | 8″ | 92″ (80″ cab) | Separate 4′ × 5′ room |
| REI Luxury Lift LLH | Hydraulic | 8″ | 96″ (106″ with EON doors) | Compact cabinet at the lowest landing |
| REI The Level | Pitless | None (2-1/2″ step up) | 108″ (6′8″ cab) | None |
Figures are from each manufacturer’s published specifications. Local code can change them. We send the manufacturer’s hoistway drawing for your exact cab and door layout before framing.

Builder FAQs
Do you have a location in Missouri?
Yes. We have a Missouri location in Climax Springs, and our main office is in Wichita, Kansas.
Can an outdoor elevator serve a lake home?
Yes. The Staying Home Outlook is made for lake and stilt homes. It’s rated for 500 lb and travels up to 21 feet.
What does a glass elevator need from the structure?
The Vuelift Mini needs a 50-inch footprint, a 3-inch pit and 96 inches of overhead. We’ll check load paths during plan review.
We’re remodeling, not building new. Can you help?
Yes. REI The Level needs no pit cut, and we review remodel plans the same way we review new construction.
Should we plan an MRL or a hydraulic elevator?
It depends on where the house has room. An MRL elevator needs no machine room: the controller fits in a closet, or on the REI Luxury Lift LLT it rides overhead in the shaft. A hydraulic elevator needs a small machine room or cabinet for the pump, but can need less overhead, as little as 92 inches on the Savaria Infinity. We compare both against your plans.
What does a hydraulic home elevator need in the plan?
Room for the pump. The Savaria Infinity uses a separate 4-foot by 5-foot machine room, usually in the basement or a utility area. The REI Luxury Lift LLH keeps its power unit in a compact metal cabinet near the hoistway at the lowest landing. Both need an 8-inch pit; overhead is 92 inches on the Infinity with the standard cab and 96 inches on the LLH.
What hoistway, pit and overhead should we draw?
It depends on the model, cab size and door layout. Pits run 8 inches on the Savaria Eclipse and Infinity and the REI LLT and LLH, and 10 inches on the Savaria Zenith and the REI Vision glass cab. Overhead runs from 92 inches on the Infinity to 108 inches on the Zenith. We send the manufacturer’s hoistway drawing for your exact configuration.
Does the elevator shaft need to be fire rated?
That comes from your local building code and the authority having jurisdiction, not from the elevator manufacturer, and it varies from one city and county to the next. We check the requirements during plan review, before the shaft is framed.
How long does the install take once the hoistway is ready?
It depends on the model. A Savaria Eclipse typically installs in 5 to 7 days once the hoistway is ready, and a Savaria Vuelift Mini usually takes 4 to 5 days because it brings its own hoistway. We set the install date around your schedule at the start of the job.
Who inspects a residential elevator in the Springfield area?
Missouri’s Division of Fire Safety runs the state’s elevator safety program, and the house is permitted through your city or county. We confirm the permits your project needs during plan review, handle the elevator permit and coordinate the inspection.
Can we build a home in the Springfield area elevator-ready and add the elevator later?
Yes. Stack closets on each floor sized to the manufacturer’s hoistway drawing, plan the pit and top-floor overhead, and rough in the dedicated circuit and phone line while the walls are open. When the owners are ready, the closets become the shaft. See the rough-in checklist on our builder hub.
